ETHOS, AIMS AND VALUES
Welcome to Park Junior School
Head Teacher - Mr R Gasser
On behalf of all the children, staff and Governors I'd like to welcome you to Park Junior School.
We are a school that likes to celebrate success - at every level. The life of the school is driven by enthusiasm and a desire to achieve. We aim to bring learning alive , making it exciting and stimulating. We want to give our children a thirst for learning that continues with them throughout their future school experiences and lives.
As essential ingredient for this to happen is teamwork. We view education as a joint venture, involving everyone - children, parents, staff, Governors and the wider community. We hope that we will be able to depend on your co-operation and support in this partnership, hoping that together we can provide the best for every child.
We are confident that with a talented team of both teaching and non-teaching staff we can provide a smooth transition for any child joining the school and strive to meet the needs of all.
The school is adjacent to Stonehouse Park Infants School and Family Centre with whom we have strong working links. There is also a Breakfast and After-School club facility. We work very closely with our partner schools including Maidenhill Secondary School in Stonehouse and other secondary schools within the area.
Park Junior School is a school whose focus is on each individual, acknowledging both rights and responsibilities. A strong pastoral structure underpins a curriculum that seeks to develop the potential of every student. Academic rigour is valued at all stages, and the classroom focus is on challenge, engagement and achievement. Learning is celebrated in all its forms. A huge range of extension activities enhances the formal curriculum, and our students thrive within a vibrant programme. The school has a well-qualified and highly committed staff, both teaching and non-teaching. They too are valued as individuals and their learning celebrated.
If children are happy, confident and feel cared for they will be able to progress more quickly. The only way to judge a school is by spending some time in it and so I would like to encourage any parent who may be thinking of sending their child to Park Junior School to come along and see what we do.
This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils. We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website, and that you find any information you are looking for.
